As he is trying so hard to get the note just right he picks up a card and plays with it pretending that it is an unconscious moment and then explains that his staff didn't think that he would have the guts to do it.

Very likeable, funny guy.

was that he started off on a note, then had to wait for the applause to stop before he continued. And when he started again, it was on exactly the note that should follow from his first one. So he has a good ear for key. So many people don't.
