GOTV 2016!

Let's face it. Obama is under total assault by the GOP/RW/tea party-types for manufactured scandals (Benghazi, IRS, spying) to scandals he had nothing to do with (VA problems) to issues he has been working tirelessly to remedy (the economy, healthcare). Corporate media reports that his approval rating is falling. I know a lot of us feel discouraged. I know I feel that way. But let's try to focus all the positives Obama has been able to accomplish despite Republican obstruction - the ACA, the end of the Iraq war, gay rights, women's rights, economic reform and so much more. Let's all try to find that enthusiasm we had in 2008 and 2012. Let's try to educate our friends with the facts. Let's do our best to give President Obama a Congress he can work with so that his last years in office will be the most progressive, transformative and positive of his administration.

I know I am preaching to the choir here but it is SO important that we continue to move FORWARD. We have too much to lose.

fire you up to work even harder. I've never been discouraged exactly because I love that man enough that (I hope!) I'd be willing to take a bullet for him, even when/where we disagree. But there's deep concern at times because of the unprecedented hateful opposition President Obama faces. And I pray night and day for his safety; that's the only reason I'll almost be glad to see his term of office come to its natural conclusion. Then I won't have to worry quite so much about some tragedy. When he does leave office, I might send the Secret Service a thank-you note, because I know they've had to work extra hard to keep him safe.
