The Most Famous Photo of All

Four years ago today: “A temporary White House staffer, Carlton Philadelphia, brought his family to the Oval Office for a farewell photo with President Obama. Carlton’s son softly told the President he had just gotten a haircut like President Obama, and asked if he could feel the President’s head to see if it felt the same as his.” May 8, 2009. Yes you have Sir. You have kept your sense of humor. For all that is tossed your way. For all the vitriol that has been tossed your way, you are our anchor here. Joe Wilson yelled at you. At the SOTU "YOU LIE!" Some here at DU support your being called a POS. You are laughed at ridiculed and maligned by many on the left and the right. I find that sad.

Our first African American President is so sadly disrespected. How proud are we of that? My heart weeps for the total disconnect of what this President has achieved under the most ugly situation.

So don't take yourself so seriously! True words Sir.True words.

Many here protest to much! Hmmm~

My President!

A huge BOG

I love you all.

The next couple of years will probably be very rocky. But, people are waking up. Young people have dumped conservatism. People will not take being blamed for the economy and everything else for very long.

for his inauguration in 2009. i know he is not the same man he was on that day ~ and yet, he remains rooted in love, respect of others, fairness, justice - and an ideal which has cost him more than many will never appreciate due to their own hate, bigotry, racism, and greed: compromise.

nothing but respect for my president and my first lady who have endured much hatred and dissing, and yet, continue to let their light shine.

a huge bog for you, too, she!

I know not else what to say.

I walked around the White House this weekend with my sister (and her hubby and son.) I felt a very fierce desire to defend him.

I did not have to, they understood the issues that Mr. Obama has been having with the SS.

ETA: My nephew was very sad that he could not see POTUS coming home… because it was Sunday.

I don't see how anyone can bump him off that pedestal I have him on.
Like he said at the beginning, the change we seek is in us, not in him. He said he would lead the way but we have to be the change we seek that he can't do it for us.
I really thought that most people here at DU understood what he was saying but as the last 5 plus years has shown they did not
