I usually try to fill out the voter registration forms for people

But I caught her on her way to an appointment inside the building, and she asked if she could fill it out and bring it back to me, so I gave her the form and told her to use blue or black ink

I never know what "I'll be right back out!" means: sometimes it means two minutes, sometimes half an hour, and sometimes I later wonder if they actually meant maybe they might be back next year. But she popped back out after about ten minutes with the form

She hadn't provided the phone number. So I said, "You aren't required to give a phone number, but I'll tell you why I want it. I'm a volunteer for the Obama campaign. We capture some info off the forms before giving them to the Elections Board, and we'd like to have your phone number in our database"

I got the phone number immediately
