I tune in to Limbaugh and Hannity every now and then just to see what they are saying to their choir. OMG! They are more frenzied, crazy and hate-filled now than ever! About 5 minutes apiece is all I can stand but that is enough to get the point.

They can't stand the reality. THEIR America is finished. OUR America, as evidenced by the election of Barrack Obama to a second term is having a beautiful and wonderful dawning. The people have rejected the politics of big business, warmongering, racism and sexism. They can't stand it!

I know President Obama is on the right track as long as he is driving the Limbaugh gang nuts!

6. I feel it too. It's never been like this since the 1960s.

I mean, the pace of change is so fast, sometimes I have to pinch myself. Healthcare reform is a reality. Marriage equality is pretty much mainstream. People are demanding gun control; people are finally seeing Wayne La Pierre has no clothes, and his bare, crazy ass is suddenly a shocking sight. We have an African American re-elected President.

On the other hand, the Equal Rights Amendment, which is what first drew me to politics, is all but forgotten. And the Violence Against Women Act died in the House. The last two years saw a tsunami of anti-choice legislation. But that War on Women resulted in push back that propelled more women into the Senate than ever before. And people are seriously talking about a female candidate for President, throwing around names like Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren. The days of a token women as VP, such as Geraldine Ferraro or Sarah Palin, seem like a hundred years away.

Election night, 2008. We had a little election watching party with my daughter (first time she ever voted), her friends and mine. After it was officially announced that Obama had defeated McSame, my daughter, who had already set it up, blasted "Give Peace A Chance" (long version) on the stereo. We were laughing, crying, high-fiving, waving peace signs in the air and hugging each other. We were so ecstatic! We listened to that song again and again as we celebrated! What a great experience!

We may be dreamers, but a lot of people are with us. Peace.

Much like the 60's. I'm 54, and as a younger woman I couldn't have imagined the strides we have made in healthcare reform and marriage equality. And an African American re-elected President. Awesome! But I agree there is a lot to be done.

Coulter is even worse. I'm not certain she believes anything but she's learned how stay "relevant" by saying ever increasingly outrageous crap.

Hannity is a special case. Lacking the mental capacity to think for himself, he says whatever he's told to say and probably believes 100% of it, because they pay him big bucks to say it. His listeners are being just as cynically manipulated as limbaugh's, only the words are coming from Hannity's puppet masters rather than directly from him.

These propagandists have figured out that Americans are the most gullible and naive people on earth and a lot of money can be made by exploiting their fears and biases.

My ex had that garbage on all the time. Part of the reason he is "ex."

There is a local station that goes from Limpballs to Sean Insanity to Levin to Michael Savage non-stop. It is "hate Obama" 24/7. Really disgusting. I can only take a few minutes at a time. I have it programmed on the car radio and I tune in on my way to work sometimes. Pisses me off and gets me going more than caffeine or nicotine ever could!

After my divorce, against the edicts of my ex, I took my daughter to PP for birth control pills and health screenings. She, now age 23, is so happy I did so and so am I. She still utilizes their services. The "gender gap" in this election was the largest in history, with women overwhelmingly supporting Obama. No wonder why.

First edict I said FU to was not to attend the March For Womens Lives in 2004. I had been invited by some friends. I went with my 17 year-old daughter with me. That was my political awakening. So many of the pro-woman, pro-choice, anti-Bush and anti-war feelings I secretly had at the time were being proudly expressed by thousands. And I was a Catholic. It was so inspiring. I went through with the divorce and took my daughter to PP not long afterward. Very liberating for me and her! I will never regret it.
