Airline thought Scottish girl was too white to fly

A RED-HEADED Scots teenager was told she was “too pale” to board a holiday flight.

Check-in staff said they feared Grace Wain, 14, was unwell as she waited to get on a flight to a dream holiday in the Maldives.

The Etihad staff insisted on written confirmation from a doctor that Grace was fit to fly – even after an airport paramedic gave her a check-up and told them she was fine.

Stunned dad Paul, 45, said: “I told them, ‘We live in Scotland.

It goes on. They did manage to get a letter from their doctor emailed to the airport (which would by no means have been easy in that short time), and then the airline lost their luggage. There is suspicion that the flight was overbooked, and the airline was looking for excuses to exclude people.
