Modern Day Amelia Earhart Will Attempt To Recreate Namesake's Legendary Flight

Aviatrix Partners With Pilatus and Jeppesen to Embark Upon a Symbolic Recreation of the Memorable 1937 Flight and Close Amelia Earhart's Flight Plan

OSHKOSH, WI--(Marketwired - Jul 31, 2013) - Pilot Amelia Rose Earhart will announce today her intention to circumnavigate the globe in a Pilatus PC-12 NG single-engine aircraft. Departure from Oakland, California is scheduled for June 2014.

"My passion for flight and adventure has driven me to explore new experiences I never would have imagined possible as a child," said Amelia. "Hard work, persistence and great role models have enabled me to fly outside the lines and achieve my dreams. Aviation plays an integral role in my life and I hope to share some of that joy with others through this adventure."

In partnership with Denver's Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum, Amelia and co-pilot, Patrick Carter, will fly more than 100 hours and make 14 stops on their journey. This flight plan follows a 2012 transcontinental flight, also tracing one of Amelia Earhart's noteworthy voyages from Oakland, California, to Miami.
