Man arrested after showing Tesco staff a photograph of a gun and threatening to kill them

A man has been arrested for walking into a 24-hour Tesco store and threatening to kill staff - with a photograph of a gun.

Employees at the Tesco Extra in Bar Hill, Cambridge, were terrified when the man entered their store about 1.30am and began threatening to kill them.

But the threat quickly subsided when he revealed he was carrying not a weapon, but a piece of paper with a photograph of one.

Staff at the Tesco, which is open 24-hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, then called police who arrived at the scene and arrested him.
