Make room UTB for Samwise Gamgee!
Had a great treat tonight at our local HRC phone bank session!
The organizers requested that we wrap up our calls for a moment and then introduced actor Sean Astin, aka Samwise Gamgee of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, among others.
Astin gave us a great Hillary rallying speech. He's behind her 150 percent (if not more), is very active in HRC's campaign and was passing through to see how her campaign here in MD is going. Our early voting begins tomorrow, April 14, and will go until April 21. He also mentioned that his mom, the late Patty Duke, was a strong Hillary supporter. Services will be held for her in ID this weekend and Sean will be there.
He told us that the first time he met Hillary was in CO in 1992, when she was campaigning there for Bill. According to him, her appearance there was electrifying and everyone wondered - even at the time - why SHE was not the one running for President.
Now that she IS running, there is absolutely NO question of his support for her!

Good for 'Samwise' - who in my book will always be the Lord of the Rings and last hobbit standing (with his wife and kids, of course)!
I bet Sean Astin could get you fired up!

That is one reason why we were astonished to have a star from LA stop by!
