But no one is proving a link for that 48k figure, and the 27k figure came straight from the BS campaign.

The only independent estimate I saw reported was 11,500:

Sanders held a rally in Washington Square Park, which was closed all day Wednesday at the request of the Secret Service. 6,500 people were estimated to be in the park for the rally with an additional 5,000 supporters outside the park for a total of 11,500.

http://abc7ny.com/politics/bernie-sanders-holds-big-rally-in-washington-square-park/1288865/

And of course, the rally was held at NYU, to be closer to BS's base. As is typical at BS rallies, most of the audience was young:

The crowd -- largely comprised of young people -- filled the park and crowded the adjacent streets. Many people -- visible from the windows -- also viewed the rally from apartments and New York University buildings surrounding the park.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/bernie-sanders-kicks-off-star-studded-massive-rally/story?id=38377917

The student population at New York University is 57,245. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_University NYU is a huge University. So, I would imagine the bulk of the attendees were NYU students.

That is what CNN and MSNBC are reporting. A huge amount of spin going on tonight in Sander's favor. But, the idea that Sander's crowd is larger than Obama's was is highly suspect, Sander's is no Obama. And, we all know, large crowds don't equal votes.

this country and the American people. Look how much broadcast time Trump has been getting from the start. He's useless and a weak candidate for the presidency, but he got all the facetime. So also with Sanders.

Thank the heavens for the internet and progressive - truly progressive blogs where they actually make sense - have risen and are now able to analyze and fact-check in a few seconds. It goes to show how dead our once great 4th estate now is.

this overhead looks like there were a lot fewer people than 27,000 in attendance.

So I tend to believe the police's estimate, rather than estimates of those who are biased in Bernie's favor.

Whatever ... just another nail in Bernie's coffin of truth, IMO.

Although Bernie's campaign is pulling out all the stops to see whether it can get the rules for the NY primary changed between now and next Tuesday, the likelihood of their being able to do that is about as good as Bernie's chances of winning in NY.

I am braced for things to be exceptionally nasty on DU from now through next Tuesday, and perhaps even worse after next Tuesday's results.
