Staying Relevant: Why Anti-Obama Progressives Have Jumped Aboard the Bernie Sanders Bandwagon

Staying Relevant: Why Anti-Obama Progressives Have Jumped Aboard the Bernie Sanders Bandwagon
Trevor LaFauci April 12, 2016

Agreements don't make for good television.

Which is why for the past seven years we've also seen a number of progressives jump on this bandwagon. There is money to be made in being a turncoat, and we've seen a number of so-called "progressives" chose to turn their backs on President Obama in an effort to remain relevant as the world passes them by. Among these Democrats-in-name-only are people such as Bill Press, Thom Hartmann, H.A. Goodman, Cornel West, Ben Jealous, and Cenk Uyger just to name a few. This ragtag group of faux liberals have been staples on the media circuit for the sole reason that they present an anomaly: they are all people who should be supporting the president but simply aren't.

So it should come as no surprise that all six of these men have become rabid Bernie Sanders supporters with West and Jealous being official Sanders surrogates, Press, Hartman, and Goodman openly advocating for Sanders with their writings, and Uyger and his team at The Young Turks openly and unapologetically supporting his candidacy. For them, the Sanders campaign is a gold mine: it gives them a chance to bash President Obama as Sanders has continuously done and it also gives them a chance to bash Hillary Clinton, who is not only running on the Obama legacy but is also well on her way to becoming our next president. Which means that once elected, there will be a built-in market for these six men on the cable news shows.

Well, at least she hasn't said anything as offensive as some of Sanders' other surrogates.

Saw her last night on "The Last Word" (another pro-BS show) with Howard Dean. Dean said Hillary would win NY and the nomination. O'Donnell asks her if the NY rally was a last hurrah for the Sanders' campaign. "No, we're just getting started," was her reply.

Just getting started? On what? Sanders' 2018 Senate run as an Indy?

Delusional, like 95% of Sanders supporters.

9. She couldn't get elected to anything, she would be a "Little Fish" in Hillary's campaign....

so she decided to be a "Super Star" for Bernie. Maybe she can parlay it into a Clinton Hating Leftie character on a Foxnews show.

10. That's exactly how I see Ms. Turner. I've lost every ounce of respect I ever had for her. She lost

her own election, so I'm not sure who she's supposed to be appealing to outside the delusional folk over in BS Land. Having lost her election, at least with BS, she still gets to be on the teevee machine, and pick up a couple $$$$.

Just like we've seen on the conservative side.

It seems like to be a Bernie supporters, you have to have an angle on which you're trying to cash in. Devine with advertising commissions, Weaver with free advertising for his comic book store, all these authors and on-air personalities, it's an obvious pattern by now.
