Nope, no Jeff Merkley there.
Sanders finally got his first endorsement from a sitting Senator, thus refuting our "not a single Senator" talking point, and we haven't thrown him under the bus. To be honest, I hadn't heard of Merkley before this, but from a quick read I think he's a decent guy without qualification. I disagree with his endorsement, but that's democracy for you.
We're going to need a smaller bus.

He spoke of uniting for the General!! SMART!

I just happen to believe he did it more out of survival than anything else. A wave of leftwing primary attacks IS coming. They didn't learn anything from the Tea Party's failures.

(15,370 posts)few Dem Senators who has not had an opportunity to work with Hillary as a Senator.
He has only been in office since 2009 and spent his political career in OR before that. That said, he was nothing but respectful towards Hillary and is a good guy generally.

Seeing reports of him being respectful of Hillary and her supporters unlike many of BS' endorsers.. he might actually be a perk in the transition to the GE.
