1. That's what a MEETING WITH THE POPE looks like!!

A formal setting in an office or reception hall with photos, smiles, gifts, and TIME ON THE CLOCK.

Not... in a foyer or breakfast room, with (figuratively) the Pope's luggage at his side as he's headed out the door to (figuratively) catch the hotel shuttle bus to the airport.

And certainly an actual "meeting" would be for LONGER than just "five" minutes, and I'm inclined to think that it was (probably) more like 3 minutes (if that) and rounded-UP to the nearest five.

It was an ENCOUNTER, not a meeting.

maybe give his holiness (the pope, not Bernie) a book about coca or a carved bust of Tupac Katari....
