Sen. Clinton: South Carolina Should Remove Confederate Flag From Statehouse Grounds

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that South Carolina should remove the Confederate flag from its Statehouse grounds, in part because the nation should unite under one banner while at war.

"I think about how many South Carolinians have served in our military and who are serving today under our flag and I believe that we should have one flag that we all pay honor to, as I know that most people in South Carolina do every single day," Clinton told The Associated Press in an interview.

"I personally would like to see it removed from the Statehouse grounds," the New York senator said during her first trip to the early voting state since announcing her White House bid.

Other Democratic hopefuls, including Sens. Joe Biden and Chris Dodd, have said the flag should come down. The banner, which once flew over the Statehouse dome and now flies nearby, is the subject of an ongoing NAACP boycott...............

And this from Begala----actually I have not seen nor read about him in a long time but always thought he was a good De--yet I am surprised to him say this!!

Former Clinton Advisor: Hillary ‘Absolutely’ Has to Answer for Arkansas’ Confederate Flag
by Alex Griswold | 2:01 pm, June 23rd, 2015 video

Appearing on CNN’s New Day, former Clinton advisor Paul Begala said that Hillary Clinton “absolutely” had to answer for her husband’s embrace of Confederate symbols as Governor of Arkansas.

“The Hillary Rodham Clinton campaign comes out and says, as she said back in 2007, ‘I don’t like the Confederate flag, you should take it down,'” host Chris Cuomo noted. “Does she have to answer for her time as first lady in Arkansas with Bill standing by the Arkansas flag proudly when it, too, is said to borrow from the Confederate symbology?”

“Well sure, absolutely,” Begala responded. “Times change, circumstances change.”

The Confederate image in the Arkansas flag is not as blatant as other states’ (such as Mississippi). But in 1987, Bill Clinton signed a bill designating that a blue star added to the flag was in honor of Arkansas’ Confederate past........

The Clinton-Confederate Flag Conspiracy Theory Is a New Low
Have you heard the new one about how Bill and Hillary Clinton’s decades of civil rights advocacy was just a cover for their closet Confederate sympathies?

.....But the national debate over the future of the Confederate flag that flies in front of the state’s capitol has unwittingly given rise to one of the more bizarre Clinton conspiracy theories to date: that Bill and Hillary Clinton, despite decades as civil rights advocates and their right-wing caricature as Northeast liberal elites, are closet Confederate sympathizers.
[150623-murphy-clinton-arkansas-embed]

The meme took off on Sunday, when The Daily Caller ran a story under the headline “Flashback: Bill Clinton Honored the Confederacy on Arkansas State Flag.”

The next morning, the hosts of Fox & Friends debated whether Hillary Clinton had refused to denounce the Confederate flag flying in front of the South Carolina (though she actually did denounce it in 2007) out of loyalty to her husband, who, Elisabeth Hasselbeck said, “signed a law honoring the Confederacy in Arkansas and about the flag’s design in 1987...that stated, ‘the blue star is to commemorate the Confederate states of America.”

The legislation that The Daily Caller, Fox & Friends, and now dozens of conservative blogs are referencing was a bill to make the flag that Arkansas had flown since 1924 the state’s official flag.
That flag includes four stars, three to symbolize the countries that held the Arkansas territory—Spain, France and the United States—and the fourth, as Hasselbeck said, “to commemorate the Confederate states of America.”

Flag the meaning went as a symbol of hate. It is time to give up the flag and the hate.

finally threw her hat in the ring to run, I constantly was talking to myself about how difficult it would be for her and wondered if it was worth it (did she it was worth it?) i felt conflicted--I so wanted her to run but knew in my heart the crazies and vile would come pouring out. she has a long political life for all to dig into--like this flag thing which kinda came out of the blue.

I posted replies on a couple including one asking if there was some sort of crazy OP about Hillary holiday. I really can't tell if these are a bunch of planned posts or what...but they really don't make sense.
