From wiki: "When Carter entered the Democratic Party presidential primaries in 1976, he was considered to have little chance against nationally better-known politicians" . And yet he won.

If you are implying that Sanders vs. Clinton are similar to the 1976 primary... no it is not. No comparison.

What a great guy, served as president and went on to serve others afterwards.
Have you noticed the Democratic past presidents have worked for charity programs and made their own programs to help those in need. What has Republican past presidents done, went their way, dont care about needs.

Jimmy Carter had a very contentious battle with Ted Kennedy in the 1980 primary season. Carter was seeking reelection. Ted led an insurgency. Jimmy Carter prevailed but the Dems were left battered and bruised and lots of 'em stayed home licking their wounds and pouting on Election Day. Anybody remember who wound up winning, that November? ronald reagan.
