Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumJust got home from phone-banking for Hillary in New Jersey.
Lots of young (really young, and male!) Hillary supporters. So encouraging. I don't like phone banking; I prefer canvassing, but it was really exciting, and I got to speak with many people planning to vote for Hillary (as well as one person who has already voted for Hillary by mail).
I didn't realize how much I missed doing this. It's nerve-wracking, but very fulfilling. I thought I would be too lazy to do it this time around, but the nastiness in GDP made up my mind for me. It's so much nicer to get out there in the real world than to read the nastiness there.

Actually, no need to call. All eligible voters here will be voting for Hillary anyway.
Plus my 11 year old daughter. I have always taken my kids into the voting booth with me. I want her to do the honors.
I want her to be able to tell her grandkids that she pulled the lever for America's first woman president.

(41 posts)Bernie fans literally pushed me to the phones. I kind of have a phone phobia. It was nerve-wracking, but I feel it is my duty to fight for my convictions.
Congrats to you Athena. Thank you for your support.

(4,187 posts)Making calls is hard; I have to breathe for several seconds before dialing each number. Canvassing in many ways is much more pleasant. You get fresh air and exercise, and people are less likely to be nasty. And when you meet a supporter who is nice, it feels like a personal connection, so it's even more fulfilling.

(9,494 posts)I am on a bunch of lists here in NJ but no one has called me yet. I do belong to a local informal group that meets to discuss the issues and we have been encouraging members to bring their daughters and that has been really effective and fun.
It's pretty exciting that New Jersey will be part of the last big primary day! We are going for Hillary!!! Bernie doesn't give a shit about us but we have a few delegates too.
