Hillary Clinton

After yet ANOTHER "Bernie can still win this" post this morning by Robert Reich, I've un-followed him on Facebook. I've liked and respected Dr. Reich for a very long time, but he's gone delusional. SMH

Reich became invested in Sanders economic message. It hs difficult to back down from that position and be taken seriously.

(4,112 posts)He has at least been clear that Hillary is a vastly better choice on her worst day than any of the Repugs on their best, but there are too many of his followers interpreting his Bernie-fervor as Bernie-or-bust. I hope he'll get behind Hillary fully once the deal is final.

(15,696 posts)...the less they will have to fight repukes in the Fall.
The Sanders campaign has absolutely nothing to lose at this point. So why stop asking for donations now?
Reich can milk more column inches out of the primary before he has to shift his focus toward November.
Sad. We could accomplish so much more if the party could count on support for the fight against repukes.

Between the rages, the anger, hostility, and the weepy grievances, that lot is more emotional than a flock of melodramatic movie starlets from the 1950s. They to be in a 12 step program and get sobered up, or maybe inpatient intensive deprogramming to help them break free of the cult.

Unfortunately preaching to the choir is not how change occurs.
It occurs when you engage different perspectives and see each others humanity and find a solution you can both support.

(2,100 posts)He's been tough on Hillary and his "Bernie still has a shot" is a bit of magical thinking for a man like that. But his writings have always tended to be on the revolutiony side so I'll give him a pass. His is an example of political enthusiasm that at times overwhelms, yet he's not hoping for a miracle indictment of Hillary, dreaming of a Trump win in November to give him something to gloat about, calling her vile, claiming she's a liar, blah blah blah. I've always had respect for Bernie supporters, it's the few loud mouthed psychos in the crowd I despise.

(1,735 posts)Dr. Reich was a member of the Clinton cabinet. Who knows what differences or conflicts might still be smoldering against them from then? He left after the first term.

(5,049 posts)For Reich to realize he is about to become completely irrelevant in the 2016 presidential election. Like lots of other pundits, he loves standing in the media spotlight and offering his opinion. But credibility is a funny thing. The longer he clings to the Bernie illusion - the less credible his opinion becomes and the less likey he will find himself in the media spotlight.
