Hillary Clinton Plans To Have A 'Climate Map Room' In The White House, Podesta Says

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffmcmahon/2016/05/08/hillary-clinton-plans-a-climate-map-room-in-the-white-house-podesta/#7256348b1912

If she’s elected president, Hillary Clinton intends to equip the White House with a situation room just for climate change, inspired by the Map Room where Franklin D. Roosevelt managed World War II, her campaign chairman, former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta, said Friday.
...
Clinton got the idea, Podesta said, “after walking many many many times through the ground floor of the residence through the Map Room.”

In 1942, Roosevelt remodeled a ground-floor room that was either a ladies reception room, according to the FDR library, or a trophy room, where gifts were received, according to White House Curator Bill Allman, into a situation room equipped with communications equipment and maps where the president could track the progress of the war.

“That gives you some sense of the imagination, the scale of ambition that one needs to be able to think about what’s happening in the oceans, on land, in Alaska, in the Arctic, to be able to envision what’s necessary to prepare the public, the economy for the challenges that are going to face us,” Podesta said.

next to keep it going.

BS scoffs @ what the President has accomplished including for Global Climate Change but then he does this..

These disgruntled progressives criticize Pres. Obama's efforts to implement environmental controls and the agreements he has pushed world leaders to sign. Yet, dumping nuclear waste from Vermont in a small dusty Texas town against the wishes of its citizens is acceptable to them. That Sierra Blanca is an impoverished Latino community without agency, the very reason it was selected, is of little consequence to them. Once again the irony escapes them that the Bernie who denounces environmental racism is the same Bernie who successfully fought against allowing the citizens of Sierra Blanca to decide the fate of the dump.

see the nuclear waste dumping on a poor community as a blot on his so-called progressive credentials mystifies me.

But no, he is still a saint.

over the whole clown show from here to November and will only rest easy when HRC has actually won the election.

It does help to know the WH - literally from the ground up - and we very much need someone with Hillary's knowledge, competence and work ethic from Day One.

7. Yep. It is going to get uglier, which, considering the primaries to date, is sort of shocking to

consider that there is a "worse" road ahead, but I believe she is uniquely ready for the challenge. I've been trying to think of it like the birthing process....there will be a lot of pain, but the outcome will be so very worth it.

That said, I'd give a lot for a remote control for time. I'd be all over that FF button.
