Hillary Clinton

I do not know why we had this on tonight instead of 60 Minutes, but I am aghast that they gave a serious interview with "Gucifer" and left out enough significant facts as to give him credibility.
I realize one email makes no difference, but I also remember the blowback 60 Minutes got for Logan's trust in Dylan Davies.... So I just wrote:
Dear Dateline On Assignment producers:
I am quite dismayed that you chose to air an interview with "Gucifer," despite no evidence that he is anything but a fraud.
This was your Lara Logan with Dylan Davies moment.
I understand that you want ratings, and that anything that sounds like it could be a scandal involving the Clintons is catnip to some people. If you felt you had to interview this person, you might have done so in order to set the record straight rather than to add more doubt (as in, "Who knows? If he had hacked it, it wouldn't leave a trail..." and maybe John Kerry "faked his wounds," Clinton killed Vince Foster, and by the way, when did you stop beating your wife?).
Instead of seeking and reporting the facts, you reiterated a series of fallacies. For example, this was not the only system Clinton used as SOS -- she used secure channels for classified material. Not only was nothing on her email server classified, it is now largely in the public domain thanks to rightwing Judicial Watch and the FOIA!
Please tell the WHOLE truth, or leave it alone. Let's not make "swift boating" a reliable campaign tactic. "Gucifer" wants fame and fortune, and Clinton's opponents want to defeat her through character assassination.
Shame on you for giving this air time and any hint of credibility.
Sincerely,
(Sparkly)
A VERY disappointed viewer

(92,190 posts)They have no integrity, and as President Obama mentioned in his press conference the other day, they view themselves as another reality tv show, not journalists

(11,584 posts)The MSM might not hire them, at least for a while. The internet and social media could be a game changer. Instead of inflating credentials and a "movement" for bernie, social media could help real journalism. If only millennials were so-motivated with something that would give power back to "the press." They were once revered and feared by politicians and powerful people.
