I just received the strangest "hide" right here in the Hillary Group!

I should have known it was going to happen because every time I dare to post in the General Forum, somehow I get a "hide" even if they have to go back several weeks to find one.

I really object to someone anonymously calling me an anti-Semite. I don't get that upset about getting hides but, to me, it seems cowardly to accuse someone of being a bigot and then hiding behind a jury. Yesterday morning? Day before last someone tried to get a hide on me for pointing out a racist on a Disqus site was just that. They alerted because they took that to mean I was writing about Bernie.

Either DU is being trolled - or there are a few people enraged and looking for a place where only their way is the right way. I don't think your post was anti Semitic.

34. I try to judge without looking up much information

just reading surrounding posts,. In this case the whole idea of calling someone a traitor casually without supporting evidence was over the top for me, I would have said hide it if it were Hillary in a flash second as well - now Trump don't know I might have questioned Cheney, It has been a while but I think I finally settled on him committing sedition instead of being a traitor. I have to look it up again.
this may not be the deep answer you want but I was just leaving when this came up and had it been less obvious to me, I would have opted out. this is just me and how I interpret the rules around here. It was nothing personal, It was not even terribly political. I really wish there was less animosity all around. But I have my bad days, so not going to preach.

In this case I did not even spend a lot of time reading the alert comment, the post just seemed over the top in my way of speaking and writing.

Hollysmom, I too was a star member but I am now supporting a site that doesn't hide peoples posts for expressing their opinions. I will never send you a private message. There is nothing personal or private between us.

If I read a post and question it just a little, I care more about the alerter's reason - are they seeing something I am not. But if I can read something and feel it should be hidden right away, I will still look for context. I won't hide something if the person was pushed into a comment. in the last few months I have found people being trolled and then when they reply, the troll alerts on them. I do not like that and I will not hide a reply to a trolling comment. So context is more important to me that the alerters comments. People alert for all kinds of reasons. Many of them are not about the rules but are about getting even.
I am sure I make mistakes, but I do check the rules when I am in doubt and I do try to be fair, I try not to be partisan. You may disagree, but we all have our own thought processes.

read the first 20 posts about Hillary Clinton. I won't bother to look, but I am sure there are many horrible and truly insulting threads about her with outright lies and not just opinions.

Now, if you did that and alerted on a few of them I would believe you. Because, if you didn't bother to read that alert on me, then you basically censored my opinion in a private group for what is, compared to the Bernie Group's posts on Hillary, pretty mild.
