He draws crowds of the young and the disgruntled. Very few Democrats support him and judging by the comments in Bernie stories he is mainly supported by those who hate Hillary.

Off Topic but my fear is these constant investigations will take a toll on her popularity in the general election.

Abusing investigations is what Republicans do. They did it against Bill, they did it against Barack, and they're trying to do it against Hillary. And yes, the perpetually outraged will give them cover: the Naderites, the Firebaggers, the anti-Democratic haters. But they're only the smallest fraction. Regular voters don't care about whiners whining, or the lies they make up.

Haven't done that (welcoming anybody) in awhile, but then again, I'm not around much these days. Your point is a good one, though. One certainly wouldn't see an OP like this in many other places around DU, outside the Hillary Group. We are sorely outnumbered - at least here on this board.

I visited one thread today that was quite long and well-attended. And post after post after post after post had a Bernie-in-the-sig-line. And it wasn't even strictly speaking a thread about Bernie Sanders!

If people still don't know who he is, then he has a very big problem.

(Or, maybe Democrats just don't want Sanders as their nominee, which is the more plausible explanation.)

But before you go... Hillary will wipe Sanders off the floor in a debate. I have no idea why people think Sanders would do that well in a debate. All he does is bluster.

He's still mired in single digits with minorities and it's not because "we don't know him yet"; quite the contrary, WE DO know him, that's a really big problem for BS.

As Democrat Hillary mystifies me. Why would a person want to return to the Oval Office "scene of the crime" which your husband occupied. I would love to see a woman elected President but this is the wrong person at the wrong time. There's just something about her I just can't put my finger on that disturbs me. I think it's because she appears to want the job only for the power, not to help us little people. But to a larger point, I think Americans are sick of Clinton Bush dynasties. I have no idea how this will turn out (until Nate Silver weighs in). But the democrats have Bernie and the republicans have Trump -we are starting to wake up. I hope it's in time. The 1% is watching.

Regarding the General, Nate had reservations which have nothing to do with her, just history:

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/clinton-begins-the-2016-campaign-and-its-a-toss-up/

He still gives her a 50% chance if things are going well before the election. I'm pretty sure the GOP is planning an 'October Surprise,' as they brag about how well those have worked in the past.

The first analysis is telling, she's gotten more Senate endorsements earlier than probably any candidate in history, and she's been building on those since the article was written in April.

She's maintained solid support since early this year, still more than all other opponents (including "not sure"!) combined. Yes, there was a "Sanders Surge" in the May/June timeframe, but that just got him from single digits to mid-teens, where he seems to have leveled off.

I'd be interested in an updated assessment to the 50% conclusion from back in April. At that time there wasn't yet a clown car full of republican hopefuls and there wasn't a Donald Trump in play. My guess is that he'd see her at better than 50% with those developments.

Overall, it's looking very good for Hillary Clinton. That's probably why she was mentioned dozens of times at the republican debate on Thursday, Sanders not once.

That's why they want a thousand debates. I didn't watch the Republican debates, but I'm guessing BS didn't come up much. They know who our nominee will be, and their operatives are all over the place, including here, trying to prevent it.

Everyone who runs for POTUS is doing it for power

Everyone who is running has a big ego -- all of them

Our job is to choose someone who can be successful in a general election AND who can deliver most of what we want.

So, a few may be sick of Clinton and Bush but they both will end up being the nominees. The fringe candidates always make headlines and draw crowds of disgruntled and depressed and unstable people but don't end up on the tickets.

Now ... you may want to choose another forum.
