Here’s why Hillary Clinton is about to start airing TV ads in Nebraska

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign said Thursday that it would expand its eight-state television advertising effort to include what at first blush might seem an unlikely location: heavily Republican Nebraska.

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is planning to go up in the state’s 2nd Congressional District, which is centered on the city of Omaha.

Nebraska is one of only two states that awards part of its electoral votes based on congressional district. The other is Maine. In Nebraska’s case, two of the state’s five electoral votes go to the statewide winner. The other three are distributed on the basis of performance in its three congressional districts.

In 2008, then-Sen. Barack Obama successfully executed the same strategy, edging out Republican nominee John McCain in the 2nd District and picking up a single electoral vote. Four years later, GOP nominee Mitt Romney swept the entire state.

defending areas they always took as being "safe"....trump being their nominee will sink many GOP senate and house candidates....trump riles up the democratic base to levels I haven't seen....trump can't help himself....a self-absorbed narcissist bully.....who used power AND debt to leverage his way in life.....steamrolling over everyone .....this doesn't work in politics too well

The 50 state strategy is going to cost the GOP tons of money, and they haven't even started yet. And knowing T. Rump, he's not one to let anything go unanswered or unchallenged. You could triple dog dare him, and he'd stick his tongue to the frozen flagpole.

We always get inundated, as a swing state.

I wonder if the team created different ads for different parts of the country?

I've also seen ridiculous ads from Republican PACs attacking her but not mentioning the yam.

Do you think Mitt is positioning himself to swoop in at the convention?

I don't know about what the ads will be for different parts of the country. Team Hillary is very creative.. we'll have to see what they come up with.

Remember their ad in Iowa was about the diversity of America.. and Hillary made history there.

I would think in more repubs states they would want to talk more about their needs.
