A Dec. 3 forum for Republican presidential candidates sponsored by the Iowa Brown & Black Presidential Forum has been canceled because of “unresolved scheduling conflicts,” according to a news release.

The forum had been scheduled to be held at Drake University in Des Moines.

Backers of the Iowa Brown & Black Presidential Forum in July held a news conference to announce the forum for GOP presidential candidates. The news conference was attended by the Iowa Republican and Democratic party chairmen. It would have been the first time Iowa Brown & Black Presidential Forum had hosted a forum for Republican presidential candidates.

The Iowa Brown & Black Presidential Forum, founded in 1984, has brought together presidential candidates to discuss concerns of African-American and Latino communities.

A forum for Democratic presidential candidates is still planned for 7 p.m. Jan. 11 at Drake University’s Sheslow Auditorium. Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Martin O'Malley have confirmed that they'll attend the January forum.
