A friend of one of our Bernie supports here at DU wanted this posted

I am doing as he asked. It's a nice letter.

Dear Friends,

I support Hillary as the most qualified person ever to run for president. She not only understands the crazy world in which we live today, she has had a life time of caring for home issues, focusing on children, families, women and health care for all.

There is not another candidate on either side who has any grasp of world affairs or international relations as she does. ( In the last debate, Martin O'Malley admitted it and made a reasonable link about his problem solving experiences; Bernie Saunders went quiet.) If one reads Hard Choices one will begin to get a view of her knowledge base learned as Secretary of State, not to mention her experience of traveling the world as First Lady. Not only is she well known, she is well-respected around the world. (I nearly have nightmares thinking of anyone of the GOP candidates sitting down across from Putin!) She does not need to spend half her term building relationships with foreign powers, she already has those relationships and can continue to build on them.

Hillary did not rush to the money-making corporate world upon finishing law school; she went to the Children's Defense Fund, a non-profit, dedicated to serving children. She is a mother committed to the betterment of all children, not only at home but around the world.

She has suffered her share of disappointments. Strengthened by it, she has gone on to pursue a life well-lived in the pursuit of justice, fairness, and opportunity for all Americans. She learned much from her mother who endured a terrible childhood and grew into the remarkable women we know her to have been.

Hillary is exceptionally smart and cares about others . From personal observation and I've had the good fortune of meeting her three times. Most recently at the debate in Des Moines, I was struck my her demeanor, calm, composed and in charge of the facts. Without a note in front of her and making none during the event--I was seated in the front row ,balcony where I could see onto the podium of each candidate--she did not falter or hesitate at any time. Her intelligence and grasp of the issues was impressive. Furthermore, she listened to the other candidates, turning to heed them as they spoke. (Martin O'Malley picked up on this behavior as the debate progressed; Bernie clung to his podium, giving no attention to the others)

One need only reflect on the grilling she had at the Benghazi hearings to see her impressive self-management under eleven hours of harassment. They didn't rattle her; she maintained her composure throughout.

I'm writing this to ask you to support Hillary for President of the United States. In no way do I demean Bernie Saunders or Martin O'Malley. Each has his strong points. However, when one looks at the big picture, Hillary dominates in every category.

Thanks for your thoughtful consideration,

Peg O'Dea Lippert

That Hillary supporters are "all about the polls", want to vote for her "just because she's a woman". and "never state the reasons why they support her".

Selective memory or deep denial?
