Rep. Marcia Fudge to campaign for Hillary Clinton in Iowa
Warrensville Heights Democratic Rep. Marcia Fudge will visit Iowa this weekend to persuade voters in the early caucusing state to support Hillary Clinton's presidential bid.
Fudge, who endorsed Clinton's presidential bid this summer, said she believes that Clinton has an "unmatched" body of experience as a U.S. Senator, Secretary of State, and first lady that makes her the most qualified candidate in any party to serve as president.
"Iowa is going to lead the nation in determining who our next president is going to be," said Fudge. "It is important that Iowans understand why it is so significant that we elect her and support her going forward."
She said she thinks Clinton's chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination -- Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who identifies as a socialist -- is too far to the left to win a national presidential contest.
"I don't believe this nation will elect a socialist," she said.
