(15,951 posts)Quinnipiac Poll that has HRC tied or slightly behind all the GOP candidates and Bernie ahead--without acknowledging that Bernie has not yet had any scrutiny in the national media about his stands that Hillary constantly gets. That the Republicans have not even begun to attack him--and when they do it will not be pretty.

(79 posts)Where can I get one of those felt cuties?
Tanuki
(14,919 posts)But even someone with minimal sewing skills could make one really easily with a few items from a craft store. You could print out the picture, cut it out, and trace the outline on 2 layers of pink felt. After cutting around the outline, sew on the eyes and smile, then sew the edges with a blanket stitch*. You could stuff it with anything from a piece of nylon stocking to lint from your dryer, and embellish with the other items.

They would grab the "Does not ID as Dem" and shove that shit down our throats.
Because they want the Sanders click thrus

(11,588 posts)This is a problem. On one hand attracting people into the Dem Party helps to grow and support it, but these people do not identify as Democrats and likely will never register as Dems, or support Democratic candidates and agenda.

But they WILL vote in the Dem primaries in an effort to boot out the stronger Dem candidate.

(20,234 posts)"28 percent of the country self-identifies as Republican, 30 percent as Democratic, and 39 percent as independent. Yet when independents are asked about whether they lean toward one of these parties, most of them do: among this 39 percent, 14 break for Republicans and 14 break for Democrats."
"... in the 2008 presidential election ... 90 percent of Democratic-leaning independents voted for Obama and 78 percent of Republican-leaning independents voted for McCain, and Abramowitz points to a similar study of the 2012 election which found that 87 percent of Democratic-leaning independents voted for Obama and 86 percent of Republican-leaning independents voted for Romney."

A third of the support for dem candidates comes from independents, and the same is true for republicans. Candidates from both parties are going to need independents to support them in order to win.

(11,588 posts)Also, from what is evident in the general-accessed pages of DU it appears that the anti-Democrat sentiment is rampant.

(15,370 posts)which Bernie excels is among those who do not ID as Dem. Not surprising for someone who never IDed himself as Dem until 2015 to run for US President.
Before that, he was his own one-man show. Even now, down-ticket Dem races do not seem to be a concern for him because "revolution" - although how that will actually happen in our supposed checks-and-balances political system is very difficult to understand.
Bernie has a tiny edge among men generally, most likely white males, given the pro-Hillary percentage among non-whites overall. But sexism could not possibly have a single thing to do with that.

Haven't you heard? We got rid of sexism. That's why the C word and/or vagina&uterus voters have become terms of endearment. Criticizing Hillary's smile (inauthentic, doncha know) is merely constructive criticism, just to make her and by extension us better liked. Because we're loved so-o-o much, we're called out for faux indignation by our adoring admirers, who claim we get peeved over the silliest things. As in accusing Hillary Clinton of wobbling in her Pro-Choice stances or only pretending she cares about women and children or . . .
It's hard to be loved this much. LOL.

I offer that the 7th is relevant and significant to this primary race ... and the 2nd and 3rd, explains the rancor found on DEMOCRATICunderground.

(168 posts)If Clinton is the nominee, the Democrats will not only lose the Presidency but potential control of the Senate. regardless of what she says. Follow the money! The US Chamber of Commerce just told their membership not to worry about Clinton's "currently" being against TPP. After the election, they "know" she will then be "currently" in favor of TPP. And you wonder why her untrustworthy numbers are so high..... People just won't vote.

(16,104 posts)you have stumbled into the protected safe haven for Hillary Clinton supporters.
You should self-delete your comment and spread this "unfounded propaganda" on more fertile soil 'out there.'

(10,832 posts)Methinks I detect a wobbling sense of confidence for the Bernie Sanders' campaign, taking it national. Could be the sobering Super Tuesday poll numbers as well as the economic vetting that's now underway on Bernie's promises. But threatening to pick up your toys and run home (won't vote) is counterproductive. Unless you would truly like to see a President Trump or Cruz.
And since when is the Chamber of Commerce the fountain of truth and fairness when it comes to Hillary Clinton or any Democrat? And since you're speaking about integrity, where are the ethics behind a campaign making promises it cannot keep? I suggest you seriously look at the numbers that simply do not support these programs in any realistic way.
Maybe the Chamber of Commerce has a comment or two.
