Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumx posting re Hillary's smile
This is in response to a post about someone "determining" that Bernie's smile is genuine and Hillary's is not. I was hoping to model some civilized discussion while still taking a Hillary position. One can dream.

I'm going to jump for joy when he finally concedes and gets out. And then I hope the eveeel DNC will back a Democrat to run against him in Vermont in 2018.

(14,919 posts)has deteriorated to the point at which anything that is not wildly partisan in favor of Sanders is often dismissed with condescension and hostility. Usually there is some parting shot along the lines of "take your pom-poms back to Camp Weathervane," in lieu of an intelligent rebuttal. It can be quite discouraging, and starts to feel like being in a relationship that has become abusive, which is why many in this group no longer post or even read there. I am glad you are up for the challenge, and hope you will stick around. You are a welcome and valued addition, and we will all celebrate together before long. As you know..."weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

(1,788 posts)She's a woman who doesn't smile right for them. If she doesn't smile, she's too mean and angry. If she smiles too much she's not sincere. If it doesn't meet with their approval, she's just a damn liar.
First, she's just a uterus and now her smile. What other body part can they reduce her to. I'm getting so sick of this crap. It's 2016, damn it....they need to realize that girls are all grown up and can hang with the big boys and not be reduced to pretty smiles and girly bits. What has happened to my democrats.

(2,015 posts)We all have situations where we use a "fake" smile. Am I really happy when I greet my boss at work (not so much) but a pleasant greeting is the socially accepted thing to do. When I see an old friend or a puppy or any of the other things in life that make me genuinely happy I'm sure there is a difference.
It's part of being an adult, sometimes you're expected to smile and be civil even if you aren't really feeling it.
