The well-known Baltimore lawyer, who also represented the family of Freddie Gray, who died in police custody, filed a federal suit against Michigan officials earlier this month. He is seeking compensation on behalf of Flint citizens for all water bills paid for undrinkable water tainted with lead.

On a more serious note, from the MSNBC article:
He also cited Clintons legal background. Hillarys background as a lawyer puts her in a better position than Bernie or any other candidate to understand who should be nominated to the Supreme Court, he wrote.
Murphy, who will campaign for Clinton in South Carolina next week, praised Clintons foreign policy experience and said outright that Sanders lacked comparable knowledge, experience and success.
And most important, Murphy said, because never again do we want our hearts broken and our hopes dashed by nominating a wonderful candidate who cant beat the Republicans in the general election.
He pretty much summed up what I've been feeling and why I support Hillary Clinton over Bernie.

(15,438 posts)I like her as a person better than Bernie. I guess that plays into it as well. I guess I'm not enraged enough to be a Bernie supporter. Because I don't see the charm. I really don't. And after reading about his legislative past, I really can't get behind him. I'm happy about the fact that President Obama appears to share my sentiments.

But I prefer Hillary for all the reasons that you mention and for several more.

I'm like President Obama and SoS Clinton: I won't let the perfect become the enemy of the good.
As Hillary said, the keyword in Progressive is progress. I don't see any progress with Bernie as president unless he completely capitulates and compromises, and then I question, with which side of the aisle?

(15,370 posts)For example, Hillary's IWR was a BIG stumbling block for me in 2008, as were other things. But her subsequent stellar performance as SoS, her ability to work closely with Prez O after a hard-fought 2008 campaign, and her proven track record on behalf of vulnerable people here and around the world have convinced me that she is the BEST!!!

(15,438 posts)Her vote for the 2002 AUMF Against Iraq had me go from Edwards (because I believed he should have gotten a second chance) and an unknown but charismatic Senator Obama. *Of course I chose Obama. It was when President Obama asked her to become his SoS to repair the horrendous damage the Bush Admin left behind that I began taking a closer look at her and actually reading about "that vote" that so disgusted me.
I'd like to note that my first choice was Sanders. I was a supporter of his for all but thirty days (give or take a few days) back in May 2015. Then I began my research into his background and I did NOT like what I found. More extensive research only made *me dislike him more. And then I learned of his antagonistic attitude toward what I'm convinced is the best president of my lifetime, and it really turned me off.
So here I am, a 110% supporter of our future Madame President - and yes, I believe she will be.

(4,542 posts)The non endorsements from colleges that the had worked around for so long, and then the nastiness of the BroS finally done me in.
This time I'm not voting for Hope, I'm voting for SCOPE!
