Just as in 2008, MSNBC called the race for Obama the SECOND the polls closed on the West Coast. They tend not to be shy about it.

7:00 PM ET. I remember in 2008 when Obama won. The media was just waiting until 11pm to call it, right after all the polls closed. I told my friend who was chewing her nails to the quick that they would do just that...just look at the map!

Time was, the media would call an election before the polls closed; that stopped after the 2000 presidential election fiasco.
