I don't want to take anybody from the Senate. The Senate is too important to take a chance on a special election giving a Republican an opportunity to take a seat (nobody thought that we would lose Ted Kennedy's seat, for instance) so in my view this rules out Sherrod Brown, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie (who I don't believe would take it anyway).

Of the others I like both Julian Castro and Tom Perez and both would be huge assets to the ticket. However, I think that Castro would be the stronger choice. I think Tom Perez would make an excellent Attorney General or Supreme Court nominee.

So at this point I'd vote for Castro.

Unless you are really glued to labor politics, he can seem a bit obscure.

I'm still wedded to Castro as a pick. Cute young family.

I would hate to see any of those great progressive senators be plucked from the Senate... too risky that the seats could be lost to Repubs.... they have much more power there than in the VP. I'm very familiar with Castro, love him and his twin brother. He would be a very attractive running mate for Hillary; young, charismatic, darling wife and family, and from a fine Hispanic family in San Antonio. I don't know Perez, but he sounds interesting also.

Throw Bernie on the ticket and the Bernie Bullies are going to claim carte blanche to try to force Hillary into adopting Bernie's policies while abandoning her own. Plus, the Sanders campaign is the dirtiest one I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a few.

Julian Castro would be the best choice; he'll be a good president someday and serving as Hillary's VP will be good grooming for him.

the new Majority Leader in the Senate and there she can do the most good. I'm leaning toward Julian Castro.
