(7,286 posts)Berniebro is going down as an ugly legacy of this primary election.
Legacy as in history. Sanders' campaign will be known by this label. There is scads of documented proof. The post mortems on the campaign will point to Berniebro behavior as one of the root failures and cause for defeat. Especially because the bros attacked the people who write about the history of the campaign. Even Sanders told them to knock it off.
They desperately need to deny it's existence. It's way too late

FWIW, I've never used the "BB term" in any posts here. But I have had the "Hill" names tossed back at me here. Juvenile playground behavior indeed.
Ah, the double standards!

Thing is---I really like Bernie--- Sincerely I do. I've listened to him forever on Thom Hartman---I love his passion and what he stands for.
I hate herd mentality. The Bern supporters remind me so much of the Ron Paul supporters. They clap loud and drown you out with their swarming assholiness.
They deserve what is about to happen to them and I love it.

(11,043 posts)My first impression when they started with the "reasonable sea-lioning" on Facebook, with the "here are some youtube videos you should watch." Then the revolution talk, then the misogynist memes. I've met several who openly supported Paul previously.

(27,817 posts)From someone who told me in 2008 that Ron Paul was the only hope for this country. Obviously my friend has evolved since then (I know, I said "evolved" , but there is something about Bernie Sanders and Ron Paul that appeals to the same people and I think it's troubling.
sweetloukillbot
(11,043 posts)Ron Paul is known as "Dr. No" because he votes against all legislation.
Bernie is "The Amendment King" because he always adds amendments to legislation.
Whatever...
I had one posting excitedly on FB about writing Feel the Bern in sidewalk chalk in front of a pub. THAT'S viral marketing... Jeez.

I do see similarities to Ron Paul's following, especially in the belief that only their standard bearer can bring truth, justice, and light to a world under shadow of oppression.
Ron Paul also led a Revolution (there is even a book) and claimed the youth followed him.
A comparison of the "revolutionary rhetoric" of those two me would be interesting.

(28,270 posts)Right and he also had big rallies etc.
One of the Bern fans favorite shills is H A Goodman who was a huge Rand Paul supporter until mysteriously switching over to Bernie.

If we block someone from posting in our protected group, it is censorship and totally unfair unlike the hundreds blocked from the BS group which are all justified because we are internet terrorists and need to stfu.

And then there's "BernieBros." Now, it has nowhere near the stigma of actual racist slander, but it's still being used in exactly the same way--it's a name that emphasizes the worst part of a group and tries to paint all other members of that group as equivalent. It gets used as a verbal weapon to shut down conversations all the time. I see lots of that around here, too.
