Hillary Clinton Hits Trump, Plays Nice with Bernie on Breezy Sit-Down with ‘The View’

Hillary Clinton received more love than criticism during an extended appearance on The View Tuesday morning.

Entering to her campaign theme “Fight Song,” Clinton got a thundering reception from the mostly female audience, complete with a “Hillary! Hillary!” chant. The Democratic frontrunner, who is facing a similar threat to her nomination in Bernie Sanders to the one she succumbed to in 2008 with Barack Obama, began by sharing some of the lessons she’s carried into her current campaign. In a shot at Sanders, and perhaps Obama, Clinton said the biggest test for a president is the ability to “actually produce results for people, not just talk about it.”

But quickly, thanks to co-host Joy Behar, the conversation turned to this issue of sexism in the 2016 race, on both sides of the nomination process. Referencing Trump’s Twitter attacks on Heidi Cruz, his campaign manager’s battery against a reporter, and comments about “punishing” women for getting abortions, Behar asked, “What do you think will happen to women if Trump wins, god forbid?”

While Clinton played up her rivalry with Trump, she also played down any animosity between herself and Sanders. “I’m very proud of the campaign that Senator Sanders and I have run, because we’ve run it on issues compared to insults,” she said. “We’ve really tried to stay on issues and where we stand and what we would do, but we do have contrasts.” She pointed to a difference on guns as one example.

And she is also pledging to "push" a two-state solution, after pledging her allegiance in no uncertain terms to Israel for AIPAC. After taking advantage of a photo op with Cuomo in Re: $15/hr. in New York after stating she believed in $12 nationally and rolling over Bernie's heavy involvement in the Fightfor15 movement.

Is there anything she won't copy from Bernie to try to make herself into him?

As for insults, she is the one who has insulted Sanders, not the other way around. And now, after accusing him of "artful smears" she is saying they are into talking about "issues". Who was it, again, who said he was lying about the oil and gas money she gets from lobbyists? Who said he stood with the Minutemen? Who stated he was against the auto bailout?

This woman has no credibility left. She acts as if we do not know what she has said and done, before.

NYDN released its transcript of the editorial meeting late last night, and boy is it a doozy. The worst parts are below, but those with the time to spare should really read the whole thing. Suffice it say, it was more or less an hour-long exercise in the editors asking serious and well thought-out questions about policy, and Sanders revealing that he was in way, way over his head.

I think the more people see of him away from his rallies and his adoring fans, the more they'll dislike him.
