(598 posts)OK it's fine to go to the Vatican for a conference, which personally I believe is odd at this time, but hey. But just tell the truth and/or facts of what happened in regards to follow up to the invitation.

That is NOT the way you do international affairs/diplomacy. You lock it in, air tight, with all parties agreeing to the press release before you put it out there and make a fool of yourself. And a fool on an international level. Sheesh!
Contrast the way No Drama Obama has handled world-shaping incidents to this premature ejaculation by Team Sanders. And over a damn photo op, no less.
Not ready for prime time.

(42,862 posts)... actually, there's probably more than one reason they haven't. I think what we're seeing now (and for the past few weeks and months, actually) is a good example of exactly WHY the folks who know him BEST have taken a pass on endorsing him.
Exactly.

(12,448 posts)who came up with the bright idea to ask for an invitation to the Vatican. That's a rookie mistake and pure malpractice by person or persons in the campaign.
It's most likely someone in the campaign's fault that the invitation was requested, but Sanders himself owns the fact that he said the pope invited him (or rather, answered "yup" when asked about it).
