Heard this about Hillary the Democratic Front Runner this morning.

Was in the local diner grabbing breakfast and a couple of the old timer farmers (the usual crowd) were talking about the primaries. One old guy said," that damn Hillary Clinton already has the 47% Romney couldn't touch and once she gets half the women in the country, it's all over for us. We might as well not have a Republican primary. Hell, my wife is even voting for her and probably most her her damn quilting friends will too." The other guy just nodded his head in agreement. It was all I could do not to laugh my ass off. But, I never laugh at my farmer guys. They supply the food, so they get respect! Let me also say that the quilting/canning/sewing bees around here are largely made up of farmer's wives and they are all Republicans.

(Sorry to raise this in this Group, but seems necessary and useful that people recognize how things work.)

THANK the farmers for us, please.

Thanks.

but (and I realize we're DU, NOT the rest of the world,) seems foolish to 'figure Hillary is the one and that is that.'

She been married for years to Attila the Hun. She usually votes "conservative" , but she's pissed off at lower wages for women, messing with women's heath care (she's a nurse), dealing with immigrants who have lived in the state since childhood and have no citizenship, and GOPers ruining the schools.

She's going to go into the both and vote for Hillary - just to get a women President.

Hell, we don't really know if it might turn some red states blue of all the ladies really step up.

I'm hearing a lot of this in Texas. It may not happen in the primary because Texas isn't going to vote for Sanders even if he's still in the race at that point. Hillary won't have any competition.

In the general, though, they'll vote for Hillary because--assuming he's among the travellers in the Clown Bus--the Republican will be an anti-woman, anti-child, anti-education, anti-healthcare warmongering loon.
