Hillary Clinton to campaign in Maryland
BALTIMORE The presidential race is coming to Maryland this weekend.
Democratic candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make her first public campaign stop in Maryland on Sunday, days before early voting begins.
As the current Democratic presidential front-runner, she is scheduled to headline an event Sunday at City Garage on West Dickman Street in south Baltimore.
According to the Clinton campaign, doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the event starts at 2:30 p.m. It's being billed as "a grassroots organizing event."
Maryland's primary is April 26

(34,457 posts)Looking only at demographics:
--it's almost all urban; Baltimore and the DC burbs are big and there is relatively little population in rural areas
--diverse
--lots of women with careers
This is somewhat offset by several large universities, where Sanders tends to be popular.
538 gives her a very good shot:

(12,448 posts)I am absolutely sick that I couldn't go to Baltimore today because of a previous commitment that I couldn't get out of. I got the invite, but my life interfered as it too often does.
GO MARYLAND! April 14, here I come!

(20,450 posts)County, Baltimore City, and Montgomery County and it's done! There are more minorities, more people, and many more Democrats in those three areas than the entire state.
Now, Montgomery County is a lot more liberal than the others. I suspect Bernie MAY give her a run for her money. I live in MoCo, and it's very wealthy and liberal. However, Chris Van Hollen is running for the U.S. Senate. And Kathleen Matthews (Chris Matthews' wife) is running for his seat. They both have a lot of name recognition. They both have endorsed HRC so she should be fine here. MoCo went for Obama overwhelmingly in 2008.
