(81,466 posts)and Hillary can sign it for her. That'd be cool!
By the time that baby grows up, the political landscape will be completely different. And who knows? Maybe that little baby will grow up and get into politics run for President in her own right someday.

(11,573 posts)there with have been enough women presidents that there'll be nothing unusual in a woman candidate. It's really kind of embarrassing how many have gotten there before us.

(81,466 posts)I will say that when I got into radio, I was The Chick. I was either the first woman on the air at that station, or they had a female jock - mostly on the overnights, and then I'd come in for morning drive and handle the news with the (always male) morning jock. That was in the mid-late 70s when stations started needing to hire women. They had to be able to "check that box." Because the FCC was watching and the women's movement was attracting a lot of attention and making a lot of waves, and it was kind of unavoidable. I happened to come along at just the perfect time that I got hired. I was the anomaly on staff. And often it was easier to "check that box" with a morning news lady teamed up with the morning jock, so you eventually saw women gaining an increasingly high profile along those lines - what with Robin Quivers with Howard Stern, and Rick Dees locally had a couple of women in succession on with him in the morning, doing the news. But women were an anomaly. It was still mostly an all-boys club. Not anymore! Women have thoroughly penetrated the on-air arena in news and information programming. Used to be it wasn't like that.
Well, someday maybe we'll look back at Presidential politics and say the same thing - "used to be it wasn't like that."

(19,288 posts)Warm and gracious in person That's good to know because she projects so much confidence and capability that I would have assumed meeting her would feel business-like and professional. Things I have apparently figured wrong. You never know.

(41,171 posts)at small events where there was an opportunity to chat with her briefly, one time in her home. Hillary has a done remarkable job of elevating the stature of women in the US and globally. For that effort she deserves high regard in the modern western world.

(19,288 posts)The Republicans seem to fear her.and the media barely mentions that there might be a couple more Dems out there looking to give this at least the appearance of a primay challenge. Them media seems to follow her closely. Her name is out there a lot. She's got a lot of coverage and that is everything these days.
