They want the narrative to be that Venezuela is descending into chaos, not that it hasn't already been in a state of chaos for years now, with thousands dying every month and the morgues being filled every fucking weekend. No, they care now, only because their guy is being challenged. That's it. Full stop.

Now the challenger is clearly crazy, he's challenging a system he knew was corrupt and who he knew wouldn't allow him to win if it was a fair fight. The Carter Center has fully outlined the corrupt aspects of the elections there.

So many faces here on these subforums who haven't concerned themselves with Latin American politics except occasionally whenever it suits them.
