Ecuador's president takes aim at privileges of military brass

Ecuador's president takes aim at privileges of military brass
By The Associated Press July 25, 2013

QUITO, Ecuador - The privileges and perks enjoyed by officers in Ecuador's armed forces could be in danger.

President Rafael Correa called Thursday for officers to be stripped of separate dining facilities and meals. In a speech marking Navy Day, he called such practices anachronistic, hateful vestiges of inequality.
