Venezuela and the Western-backed Palestinian Authority on Saturday signed agreements which include deals to sell oil to the occupied territories at a "fair price," Caracas said.
The accords were inked following a meeting between Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elias Jaua and his Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Malki.
"It is an agreement of cooperation and solidarity with our oil industry... a sale of fuel at a fair price," Jaua said at a press conference.
The agreement also guarantees "favorable" repayment terms as well as training of Palestinians on handling and distribution of oil.

(5,756 posts)The oceans are so damned big that it will be no trouble at all for the US and it's allies to sink any tankers headed from Venezuela to the Palestinians without any fear of being caught. I see lots of refinery fires and tanker losses in their future.

(5,756 posts)The CIA finally admitted they engineered the Iranian coup in 1953. That's one they've admitted to. How many others have their fingerprints on them to which they have not admitted? The US illegally ran weapons and drugs in South and Central America. Our government continues to spy on us and lie about it. Claiming any collection of US citizens data is incidental, accidental an not wide-spread. Sure, right.
These are things we know to be factual. So I don't really see it as a stretch or paranoid fantasy to expect that the US might take covert actions against Venezuelan oil getting to the Palestinians. The State Dept./CIA are still unhappy with the election results in Venezuela. Destabilizing the existing government in Venezuela so that it's ripe for a coup wouldn't exactly be out of the ordinary for the CIA.

(770 posts)Seems to me this is a nice gesture since I'm pro Palestinian, but it also seems like a weird gesture. Venezuela's refinery are a huge mess and nowadays it imports fuel from the USA. This means it pays top dollar because USA companies aren't about to drop the price. So ten Venezuela "ships fuel" to Palestine? I think it's a small amount or they'll just forget to deliver.
