Jesse Jackson visits Cuba

http://peoplesworld.org/jesse-jackson-visits-cuba/

Civil rights advocate Jesse Jackson, attending a religious ceremony organized by the Cuban Council of Churches at the Havana-based Ebenezer Baptist Church in Cuba, called for actions against the economic blockade maintained against Cuba by the U.S. government, which has been in effect for more than 50 years now. He said the blockade affects the lives of the Cuban people and hinders relations between the two nations, stressing the need to strengthen relations between the U.S. and Cuban people.

The blockade effects the use of the Internet on the island, telephone calls and transportation. It also restricts individual American's freedom to travel to Cuba as well as hindering communication with the island.

Participants recalled previous visits by the civil rights activist to Cuba in 1984 and 1988. The Reverend Jackson recalled his meetings with Cuban revolutionary leader and former President Fidel Castro.

The Rev. Raul Suarez, director of Cuba's Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Center, stressed the contribution by the Rev. Jackson to relations between the U.S. and Cuban people. He said that the Jackson has favored a new stage for relations between the churches and the state, which he described as a "blessing for our country, our people and the Cuban Revolution."

It has been controlled far too long by the greedy, self-obsessed fascists of the right-wing: small-minded sociopaths, deviants, perverts and their minions, twisted, maladjusted, stupid message board trolls.

I'm glad he's part of the momentum to help open up relations with Cuba. I've seen some other groups on Facebook too. But having Jackson as an ally would be very helpful, I think.

any time his name appears, or is mentioned.

They can't allow a moment to go by without spewing venom any time a famous person of a race they wish they could dominate is brought into the spotlight.

Don't know how long these pathetic idiots will continue this way. Their hatred never seems to be transcended, they never seem to grow wiser, and more evolved. They live and die as a-holes, and then their mini-racists take over and carry on the disease for them.

People pound Jesse Jackson just as they do Rev. Al, and before him, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., a man they actually called "Martin Luther Coon," while thinking themselves the souls of wit itself. It's time the people of THIS country overthrew the haters here! WE need our own revolution.

Considering their rising pomposity, their sense of power, their drunkenness on what they perceive is their power, their foolish, ill-conceived ploys against the people of the U.S., they just might do themselves in, and save everyone the trouble!

Fine with me, and a lot of people I know.

Rev. Jackson has put himself in jeopardy because these racist clowns will become enraged he has commented on it, but he is so kind to try to help.

One thing at a time, slow and steady wins the day, as the saying remains.

He simply over-reached in trying for multiple successes. Without a doubt State Department pressed him to do them a favor if he hoped to get permission to engage in the first objective. Alan Gross is a loaded problem, unlike the earlier hostages he has retrieved. Different situation altogether as normal people know.
