A Moorestown attorney has pleaded guilty to bribing an official in Colombia as part of a scheme to win an oil-services contract worth some $39 million.
Gregory Weisman, the former general counsel for PetroTiger Ltd. of the British Virgin Islands, also admitted guilt to fraud charges, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office for New Jersey.
Authorities also said two former chief executive officers of PetroTiger Joseph Sigelman of Miami and Knut Hammarskjold of Greenville , S.C. have been charged for their alleged roles in the bribery scheme.
All three men are 42.
Weisman pleaded guilty Nov. 8, when the former CEOs were charged by sealed complaints. The men allegedly directed PetroTiger funds to an official at Colombias state-owned oil company. Court documents also allege they sought kickback payments at the expense of PetroTigers board members.
