CAFE & U of Florida students host a Pro Engagement w/ Cuba Rally

"On Friday, February 13th, Jhon Cores, Cuban Americans for Engagement (CAFE) board member, joined with University of Florida students to host a Pro Engagement Cuba Rally in Turlington Plaza, where they discussed the current US policy shift on Cuba, gave out free pastelitos, played music, danced, and chanted Cuba Si! Embargo No! The event went on for about two and a half hours. Later that afternoon, Jhon gave a presentation about Cuban Americans for Engagement at the Graham Center in Pugh Hall, where he talked about the group's activities, their points of views, and their plans for the future to a crowd of around 40 people. The presentation, which was a hit, was hosted by 3 UF student organizations: the Cuban American Student Association, Inspire Cuba, and the Association of Cuban Student Engineers. All in all, the day's events were a fantastic way to engage with young University Students on the issues of US-Cuba policy."

As opensecrets.org reveals, Cuban American political campaign contributions are pretty much evenly split too.

from the Batistianos against the pro-dialogue Cubans in South Florida for decades.

That's always the way it goes, isn't it? Reactionary right-wingers trying to destroy everyone who doesn't agree with them!

Didn't know about the break-down in contributions. Interesting!
