Tourists capture rescue of giant anaconda

trapped in bushes behind a resort in Colombia.

The snake was estimated to be around 16ft long and had been spotted injured on the side of the river bank, suffering from a gunshot wound.

French couple Denis and Marie-France Grenouillet videoed the rescue mission, which involved locals bagging up the anaconda and taking it to a nearby lagoon.

In the clip, the locals point out the injuries sustained by the snake as they attempt to coax it from the bushes.

...(at least, Spanish and French) in faraway, exotic Colombia. The vid follows the entire route, from finding the wounded anaconda, to getting the huge critter into a bag for transport, then off into the wild wetlands and, finally, coaxing the tired, confused, huge snake into the water. Luckily, there was a leader who knew what he was doing, knew how to handle the anaconda and had no fear of it. In fact, everyone seems relaxed and well-meaning. I do hope the snake survives, after all that. Its movement is quite beautiful--reminded me of the wiggle in the Cosmos, whereby clumped up stars so often form themselves into an "S" on their way to becoming spiral galaxies. This seems to be the preferred shape of the Universe.
