DeLauro Says Dodd Would Be a Great Ambassador to Cuba

Former U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd's name is being bandied about as a potential ambassador to Cuba and one of his closest political allies backs the idea.
"I don't know about his interest but he would be a great fit for that job,'' said U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, who served as Dodd's chief of staff from 1981 to 1987.
DeLauro, who spoke to reporters on a wide variety of topics in her New Haven office Tuesday, said would be a strong candidate "with his extraordinary background in Central America, Latin America and as someone who speaks the language fluently."
"He would be a great ambassador but I don't know what his interest is in that,'' she added.
