Mexico: High Army Command Should Be Probed In Tlatlaya Massacre
Published 7 July 2015
Recent revelations suggested that the massacre was related to a specific order issued to the infantry battallion involved in the killing.
An international human rights group urged Monday the Mexican government to investigate several senior officials of the armed forces over the case of Tlatlaya, a small town in the State of Mexico where 22 people died.
The demand followed the revelation last week that military officials who intervened then were ordered to take down criminals during the night time.
The Mexican State has not fulfill its duty to investigate the serious human rights violations that occurred in Tlatlaya on June 30, 2014, said the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL) in a communique.
