US court orders CIA to reveal documents on Pablo Escobar .

US court orders CIA to reveal documents on Pablo Escobar .
Monday, 20 August 2012 17:51 Olle Ohlsen Pettersson

A US court has ordered the CIA to make public documents concerning links between the anti-Escobar vigilante group Los PEPES and the US government.

The driving force behind the process to make the documents public has been the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), which has been engaged in a legal battle against the CIA since 2004 to facilitate the publication of all documents mentioning Pablo Escobar and Los PEPES (People persecuted by Pablo Escobar) from the CIA archives.

IPS claimed the CIA is deliberately concealing information about its connection to Los PEPES, which was founded in 1993 by enemies of the notorious drug lord with the same name.

Many founding members of Los PEPES, such as “Don Berna” and the three brothers Carlos, Vicente and Fidel Castaño, would later move on to create the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, or AUC, a paramilitary organization guilty of widespread murder and terrorism in its self-proclaimed battle against Colombia’s left-wing FARC and ELN rebels.

It's beginning to look like the CIA/AUC/& the U.S. "war on drugs" is one just one gang among many, and has been muscling the other ones out.

But those who have been "consolidating" the trillion+ dollar cocaine revenue stream out of Colombia don't take kindly to people who expose their godawful scams and have developed highly clever techniques for punishing/silencing them (and others like them).

Just viewed the video of former UK ambassador Craig Murray at the Assange street event in London outside the Ecuadoran embassy. What a smart and articulate man! He lays it all out. Such a thrill to hear the truth spoken--and so well spoken!

Had never known about what treachery was launched against him. Thank God he had the endurance and wherewithal to stay on it for a year and a half in order to clear his name.

I deeply appreciate the pains he's taken to bring this to public attention, to inform us of what DOES happen to cloud and mislead our perceptions in order to protect a completely unredeemable way of dealing with people who get in the way of power hungry governments.

The man has guts. Hope they won't decide to go after him again, like the primitive, backbiting scum they've always been.
