PRESIDENT MACRI TO BE PRESENT AT OLYMPIC GAMES OPENING IN RIO

President Mauricio Macri is to attend the Olympic Games opening ceremony, the first Olympic games to take place in South America, according to Brazilian Foreign Minister, José Serra, who also announced that 44 Chiefs-of-State will also be present on August, 5.

Besides Macri, according to Serra, the ceremony will be also attended by presidents of France, Francois Hollande; Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos; Paraguay, Horacio Cartes, and Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, among others.

The Brazilian Foreign Minister informed the attendance of 55 Sport Ministers from several countries during the world’s biggest sports competition that will have as main scenario the Maracaná Stadium.

The Rio Olympic Games, to be held from August 5 until August 21, have been dimmed, during the last days, by a terror atmosphere due to the possibility of terrorist attacks, after the Brazilian authorities arrested ten suspects that were allegedly planning an attack during the games.
