Minister Ovalles: Venezuela has the highest salary in Latin America

Jennifer Suárez / Jan 3, 2018.- Labor Minister Néstor Ovalles said on Wednesday that the increase made by President Nicolás Maduro positions Venezuela as the country with the highest salary in Latin America.He assured during an interview in the program A Tiempo por Unión Radio that "everything we do is to avoid affecting the economy of the country and the different crimes, among them smuggling and the affectation to our monetary cone".

"Taking as reference the official exchange rate, we still have the highest salary in the region," Ovalles said, noting that "there is no relationship between inflation and wage increases."

On the other hand, explained the modalities decreed by President Nicolás Maduro regarding the payment of food benefits, where he indicated that "the presidential decree is a development of what is established in the law, where the preferential use of the benefits, whether electronic or with tickera, so that the employers can apply any of the modalities in their companies ".
