Venezuelan mothers forced to sell their hair to feed their children

"First my children": Women sell their hair at up to $ 20 face the crisis
The Cooperator

Caracas, January 11.- Many women in Venezuela have decided to cut their hair to sell it and thus have money to buy food or medicine for their family.

The price of hair varies according to its length, but in a country where the minimum wage, at the price of the black dollar is about six dollars, many are sacrificed to obtain 20 dollars from the sale and thus be able to face the inflation that exists in the country, reviewed La Verdad .

A dozen intermediaries of women and men who are known as "draggers" expect about 200 women a day at the border bridge in San Antonio del Táchira to make proposals and take them. "I thought: whatever God wants, I'm going to cut my hair, I had it too long. I'm going to sell it, first my children are, the hair grows, "said one of the women who agreed to sell her hair, reported the newspaper.

My grandparents came from Ireland, where the British systematically starved the Irish population
via policy and practices. It is a miserable existence.
