Lopez Obrador Still Leading Vote Intention in Mexico

Mexico, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) If the Mexican presidential elections, scheduled for July, were held today, the winner would be Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO), of the coalition National Regeneration Movement (Morena), the Workers'' Party and the Social Encounter Party. Morena leader Obrador won 32 percent of the votes in the poll by El Universal/Buendia & Laredo, from January 19-25.

Ricardo Anaya, precandidate for the National Action Party (PAN), Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) and People's Movement, appears in the second position, with 26 percent of the votes.

Jose Antonio Meade, precandidate for the governing Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), in a coalition with the Mexican Green Ecologist Party and National Alliance, is in the third position, with 16 percent.

Lopez Obrador presented today proposals to occupy key posts in the struggle against corruption that continue unoccupied, due to discrepancies among the parties represented in Congress.
